About the SPTA

Think of us as the community engine behind the scenes. We're the team organising staff appreciation treats, planning family events, running fundraisers, and helping keep our parent community connected. Whether we're pouring coffee at morning socials or planning next term's big tradition, we're here to make school life a little brighter for our children, teachers and families.

Parent involvement is in our DNA. Somersfield Academy was founded by a group of parents in 1990, who established the Montessori Education Trust and opened the original Montessori Academy in Warwick in September 1991 with 72 students. The SPTA carries that same grassroots spirit today: connecting families, supporting staff, and keeping our community thriving.

Founded by parents: community involvement isn't an add-on here, it's how our school began. Connected for the long haul: from three-year-olds in Montessori to young adults in the Diploma Programme, our families grow up together. Community first, always: we focus on real connections, inclusive events, and showing our teachers love every single week.
